It’s another week where I forgot to take pictures of some of the food that was made! I haven’t followed a recipe with some of my cooking lately. So, for this Friday Foods, I decided to dig out the recipe box and share one of my all-time favourite recipes. This one is something my mom wouldn’t make very often, so when we would have it, it would be a treat. It is AuSable’s Favourite Turkey Casserole. You’re going to want to try this one!
3 cups Cooked Turkey (or chicken if preferable) pieces
1 cup Sour Cream
1 cup Cream of Mushroom Soup
1/2 cup Margerine
1 1/2 cup crushed Cheez-Its (yes, that’s right. You might find these in your American food section. I’ve found Cheez-Its in an American food store near Holland Park in London)
1/4 cup Poppy Seeds
Preheat oven to 375F. Place the meat in the bottom of a greased 13x9x2 cake pan. Combine soup and sour cream and spread over the meat. Sprinkle the crackers on top.
Drizzle the margerine over the crackers. Sprinkle poppy seeds.
Bake for 20-30 minutes.
And that’s it! It seems like an odd recipe, but it is SO good! It would be a fun meal to try with your family. Hope you enjoy this tasty recipe!
xx Hannah
First recipe I have ever seen with Cheez-Its in it.
