This is the first post of many I’m hoping to do where each Friday I showcase one of my favourite recipes. These could be old recipes passed down in the family or new ones that I have recently tried.
One of my dad’s favourite recipes is one for Barbecues (a version of sloppy joes). Since we don’t have sloppy joes very often here in the UK, I decided to make this for supper one night. This was my first attempt at making this myself, but I know it’s delicious!

Ingredient List:
1 lb. Hamburger (Mince if you are from the UK)
1 chopped Onion
1 can Corned Beef (not hash)
4 tbs Vinegar
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
2 tbs Chili Powder
1 cup Ketchup
After you have all of the ingredients together, brown the hamburger and the onion. Once browned, add the remaining ingredients and simmer for one hour.

When I made this, I think I added too much chili powder because it was a little on the spicy side. It still tasted great! My husband really enjoyed it. It’s a super simple recipe with minimal ingredients. We had leftovers for lunch the next day.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this first installment of my Friday Foods posts. Let me know how you get on with this recipe or if you have any recipes you would like to see. Have a tasty day!
xx Hannah
Those are sooo good!

A bit like my Chilli con carné without the beans! Do you have to use white vinegar, or can you use ordinary brown?

I don’t think you have to use white vinegar. I just used it because that is what I remember being used in the past!
